1.1 This website is owned and operated by Prescience ApS (“Prescience”).
1.2 Prescience ApS is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Where Prescience processes personal data on behalf of its customers (for example, personal data submitted by customer users into the Service), Prescience acts as a data processor under the instructions of the customer as data controller.
1.3 Prescience is registered in Denmark under registration number DK36485493 and our registered office address is Prescience ApS, Lerskrænten 10, 8700 Horsens, Denmark.

1.5 For questions or requests specifically relating to your personal data or this privacy policy, please contact our data protection contact at support@prescience.io.
2.1 By using Prescience (the “Service”), You agree to the terms of this privacy policy.
2.2 “You” refers to any individual or legal entity that registers with or uses the Service.
2.3 Prescience is committed to protecting Your privacy and handling Your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable Danish data protection law.
2.4 This privacy policy describes what personal information Prescience collects about You, how it is collected, the lawful basis for processing it, how it is used, stored, and when it may be shared.
2.5 Prescience may update this privacy policy from time to time. For material changes that affect how Your personal data is processed, Prescience will notify You by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

3.1 When You register as a user, Prescience collects the following personal information about You:
(a) Your email address (required for account creation and service communications),
(b) Device and access data: when You access the Service, Prescience logs data about Your device (computer, tablet or mobile), operating system, browser version, and IP address,
(c) Usage data: visit frequency, session length, page views, and navigational behaviour for the duration of Your session,
(d) Your name, telephone number, and employment details, if You choose to complete Your user profile (optional),
(e) Geographical location derived from Your IP address,
(f) Your subscription and billing information if Your account is on a paid subscription. Credit card and payment details are stored exclusively with Prescience’s third-party payment provider; all payment data transfers are encrypted.
3.2 The lawful bases under GDPR Article 6 on which Prescience processes Your personal data are:
(a) Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing necessary to provide You with the Service — account management, authentication, billing, and service communications,
(b) Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): processing for security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and technical analytics. Prescience has assessed that these interests are not overridden by Your privacy rights,
(c) Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): processing required to comply with applicable law, including tax, accounting, and data protection obligations,
(d) Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where You have opted in to marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
3.3 Prescience does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 16. The Service is intended for business use only.
4.1 Prescience uses Your personal information for the following purposes:
(a) Enable You to access the Service, as it requires user authentication and authorisation,
(b) Improve Your user experience by personalising the Service,
(c) Send You notification emails that form part of the Service,
(d) Send You emails with content You have specifically requested,
(e) Send You non-marketing service information relevant to Your account,
(f) Provide support to You as part of the Service, including handling support tickets submitted by You,
(g) Send invoices and payment notifications to You,
(h) Process Your payments via Prescience’s third-party payment provider,
(i) Fraud detection and prevention,
(j) General security and administration of the Service,
(k) Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
4.2 You can manage Your privacy preferences within the Service under Your account profile to:
(a) Limit the visibility of Your personal information (name, email address, telephone number, and professional position) to other users within the Service,
(b) Update Your notification preferences to manage communications from Prescience,
(c) Subscribe or unsubscribe from newsletters and marketing communications. Prescience will not send unsolicited marketing communications.
5.1 Prescience relies on Microsoft Azure to provide the hosting, software, hardware, network and storage required to operate the Service.
5.2 Your personal information is stored within the European Economic Area (EEA). Prescience’s primary data centre is Microsoft Azure West Europe (Amsterdam, Netherlands), with geo-replication to Microsoft Azure North Europe (Dublin, Ireland). Your data does not leave the EEA as part of normal service operations.
5.3 Where Prescience uses third-party sub-processors that transfer data outside the EEA (for example, payment or support providers), such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission, or another recognised transfer mechanism under GDPR Chapter V. A current list of Prescience’s sub-processors is available at prescience.io/suppliers.
5.4 All transfers of Your personal information are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 minimum).
5.5 Notwithstanding section 5.4, You acknowledge that data transmission over the Internet is inherently subject to risk, and Prescience cannot guarantee the absolute security of data in transit.
5.6 Prescience implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect Your personal information against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, in accordance with GDPR Article 32. These measures include encryption at rest (AES-256), access controls, and continuous security monitoring via Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
5.7 You are responsible for keeping Your account credentials confidential. Prescience will only request Your password at the point of signing in to the Service.
6.1 Your personal information is accessible only to a limited number of Prescience personnel with specific access permissions and confidentiality obligations.
6.2 Prescience will not disclose Your personal information to any third party except as set out in sections 6.3 to 6.7 below.
6.3 Prescience may share personal information with professional advisers, agents, suppliers or sub-processors to the extent necessary to operate the Service, subject to appropriate data protection obligations and contractual safeguards.
6.4 Prescience may share personal information with auditors, regulators, and supervisory authorities where required by applicable law or regulation.
6.5 Prescience may disclose personal information to prospective acquirers or investors to the extent necessary to carry out any due diligence process, subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
6.6 Prescience may be required to disclose personal information in connection with legal proceedings or to comply with a legal obligation.
6.7 Prescience may disclose personal information as necessary to establish, exercise or defend its legal rights.
7.1 Under GDPR, You have the following rights in relation to Your personal data:
(a) Right of access (Art. 15): You have the right to obtain a copy of the personal data Prescience holds about You, together with information about how it is processed.
(b) Right to rectification (Art. 16): You have the right to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected without undue delay.
(c) Right to erasure (Art. 17): You have the right to request deletion of Your personal data where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or where You withdraw consent (where consent is the lawful basis), subject to any overriding legal obligations.
(d) Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18): You have the right to request that Prescience restricts processing of Your personal data in certain circumstances, for example while the accuracy of data is being verified.
(e) Right to data portability (Art. 20): Where processing is based on Your consent or on a contract, and is carried out by automated means, You have the right to receive Your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
(f) Right to object (Art. 21): You have the right to object to processing of Your personal data where Prescience relies on legitimate interests as the lawful basis. Prescience will cease such processing unless it can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override Your interests, rights and freedoms.
(g) Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on Your consent, You have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
7.2 To exercise any of the above rights, please contact Prescience at support@prescience.io. Prescience will respond within 30 days of receiving Your request. Prescience may ask You to verify Your identity before processing a request, but will not require identification certified by an external authority as a condition of responding.
7.3 You can review, update and delete certain personal information directly from within the Service under Your account profile.
7.4 Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77): If You believe that Prescience has processed Your personal data in a manner that does not comply with applicable data protection law, You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.dk, or with the supervisory authority of Your EU member state of habitual residence or place of work.
8.1 Prescience retains personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, in accordance with the GDPR storage limitation principle (Art. 5(1)(e)) and any applicable legal minimum retention periods.
8.2 Prescience’s standard retention periods are as follows:
(a) Active account data: retained for the duration of Your account and for up to 12 months after account deletion or termination, after which it is permanently deleted,
(b) Usage and analytics data: retained for a maximum of 26 months from the date of last account activity,
(c) Billing and financial records: retained for the period required under Danish accounting law (minimum 5 years),
(d) Security and audit logs: retained for a minimum of 30 days and up to 12 months.
8.3 Upon account termination, Your Content and personal data are removed from Prescience’s production systems within 30 days. Encrypted backup copies are purged within 90 days of the production deletion date.
8.4 Notwithstanding the above, Prescience will retain personal data for longer periods where:
(a) Prescience is required to do so by applicable law,
(b) The data may be relevant to ongoing or anticipated legal proceedings,
(c) Retention is necessary to establish, exercise or defend Prescience’s legal rights.
9.1 Prescience uses Microsoft Application Insights on its marketing website (prescience.io) to collect performance and usage telemetry. This tool is not used to process personal data within the Service platform itself. Data is processed within the EU via Microsoft Azure. See Microsoft’s Privacy Statement for details.

10.1 In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to Your rights and freedoms, Prescience will notify You without undue delay in accordance with GDPR Article 34. The notification will describe the nature of the breach, its likely consequences, and the measures taken or proposed to address it.
10.2 Prescience will also notify the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) of applicable personal data breaches within 72 hours of becoming aware, in accordance with GDPR Article 33.
